From the Earth

We had the joy of working with Andromeda on her jazz suite ‘From the Earth’. ‘From the Earth’ (2024) is a programmatic jazz suite that highlights environmental justice and humanity’s profound interconnectedness with the planet. The work addresses contemporary environmental challenges through collaborators from four marginalized communities coping with the interrelated effects of climate change and systems such as redlining and colonization. Each community is represented by a thematically distinct concerto—Earth, Sky, Sea, and Ice. Andromeda was able to come down to Nashville for her shoot and then we collaborated from afar on the remainder of the discovery of the visual representation of the music and message of the piece.
